The GED program prepares adults to take the five GED tests required to complete a high school equivalency. Subjects include writing, reading, social studies, and math. The GED is recognized nationally as a legal equivalent of a high school diploma. A GED serves the same purpose as a high school diploma in meeting most job requirements and is accepted in place of a high school diploma.
