Position Overview

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Fulfillment Center Associate 

● Inspecting and categorizing Swap.com and/or Sellers Merchandise, 

● Presentation and photography of merchandise, 

● Packaging of merchandise 

● Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor not explicitly stated in this job description 

● Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures 

● Other appropriate duties as assigned 

Education, Training and/or Work Experience Requirements 

● High school diploma or GED (preferred)

● Constantly able to stand for 10-hour shift, (required) 

● Able to maintain regular, punctual attendance

● Basic computer proficiency (Touch screen, typing) 

● Constantly able to work under pressure and meet hourly and daily production rates 

● Lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 pounds

● Shipping of packages to customers via FedEx/UPS

● High school diploma or GED (Preferred)

Nicor Gas Career Academy is a program sponsored by Nicor Gas, NPL, and QCUL. The 6-week, unpaid job readiness program prepares participants for careers in the utility industry.

Starts September 30th Through November 8th, 2019.

Score at least a 12th-grade level in math & reading on the Tests of Adult Basic Education

NOTICE OF APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITY

The Painters & Allied trades District Council #30 North Central Illinois Finishing Trades Institute will accept applications year-round at the District Council Apprenticeship School located at 1905 Sequoia Drive, Aurora, Illinois. Trades include — Painter Decorator, Drywall Finisher, Industrial Coatings & Lining Specialist & Glaziers (in certain areas).

 

All applicants must meet the following qualifications:

1. Age- 17

2. Education — Furnish a High School Diploma or a copy of GED.

This must be provided at the start of classes. (applicants must get Letter of Intent to Hire from employer)

 

All applicants must be a legal resident. All applications will be kept on file for a period of 2 years. It is recommended that you keep your records current at the Apprenticeship office. The number of qualified applicants placed in "on the job" training, depends on the demand for labor in the jurisdiction of Painters District Council No. 30.

 

Applicants should understand that the Painting, Decorating and Drywall Finishing Industry will require, in order to protect your health and safety, regulations that must be followed as determined by each job assignment. May require movement from job site to job site, at times, is a seasonal occupation and have the ability to work heights (ladders & scaffolding).

 

Classroom instruction will begin at different times during the year. Classes must be attended. Each class is of 8 hours duration, the term of apprenticeship is 3 years. All applicants will be received without regard to race, color, religion, national origin or sex.

This position will entail the responsibility of the safe handling of shipments, proper care, and processing of inventory and following safe practices and standard work procedures at all times.

• Operate various powered equipment efficiently and safely

Supervisory Responsibilities

Required:
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to drive a truck within facility confines and learn how to spot trailers
• Dependable, honest, quick learner, excellent communication skills and team player
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including any days, shift, and weekends to ensure that the customer demand is met


Preferred:
• Ability to perform and interpret computer and RF functions
• Ability to learn new skills at a fast pace


Experience
• Forklift experience preferred

• Travel is not required.
